Learn with Nicole Monahan
Welcome to my unique, relaxing and inspiring studio among the ferns and frogs near Seattle in Woodinville, Washington. Whether you join an art class or art camp at the forest studio, at a global retreat, or a specialty workshop at a partnering venue, I look forward to help you grow in your journey with art. Let me know how you want to grow!
Now teaching kids, teens, and adults.
Come to the studio for the art and while you are here, walk the forest trail, look for wildlife, visit with the goats, chickens, bunnies, reptiles, and dogs!
I teach at my studio, on retreats around the world, and at various venues. Current venues include Bellevue Botanical Garden, Bellevue College, and Britney Park Independent Living. If you would like me to teach or present at your venue or event, please let me know!
My Philosophy
Art is more then copying a picture or another person's idea. Art is about exploring and experimenting with one's individual ideas, interests, and style. Art is emotion. Art is a narrative. I support my students in a patient and calm manner. We have fun while techniques are learned, explored and perfected. My goal is to help each student learn to truly observe the world around them, the lighting, perspective, proportions, changes with seasons, etc. and then transpose that into art they are proud of. I strive to help them
grow as an artist no matter the age or ability. My students include the more sophisticated artist to the beginner. A young child and teen to adults and elders. Classes are held in my studio, on-line, Bellevue College, Bellevue Botanical Gardens, Retirement Homes and in retreats around the world. Join me to explore art!
