Nicole Monahan's Philosophy On Teaching
Art is more then copying a picture or another person's idea. Art is about exploring and experimenting with one's individual ideas, creativity, interests, and style. Art is emotion. Art is a narrative. Art Is fun and a way to relax. I support my students in a patient and calm manner. We have fun while traditional and contemporary drawing and painting techniques are learned, explored and perfected. My goal is to help you learn to naturally observe the world around you. See the lighting, perspective, proportions, changes with seasons, anatomy, and so much more. Then transpose that skill into art you are proud of and uniquely you. I strive to help you grow as an artist no matter the age or ability. I do not touch up student's work and creativity is always encouraged.
Students include beginners to the more sophisticated artists who want to grow.

Bring the kids to Monahan studio art camp where they can express their creative side under the cool forest canopy. A perfect blend of nature and art! Campers get to draw, pet, and feed animal models such as goats, chickens, reptiles, horses and bunnies. Campers will get to create large scale nature based sculptures with their team, build creative forts and explore painting, printmaking and so much more. Registration goes live Feb 1st at 6am. These camps fill fast so there is a waitlist when full. Please join the newsletter for 1st updates!

Create fun, whimsical animals & flowers in watercolor and ink while you enjoy tea and treats for a fun experience! No experience needed. Relax at the forest studio surrounded by ferns. Each event includes a demo, project steps and personalized help while you create. All materials are provided. Go home with new art each class. No repeats all year! While you are at the studio, walk the forest trail and visit the goats and chickens. Each class time has 6 spots available for a community class or reserve all the spots for your private group. Class held at Monahan Studio. Children with an adult welcome or reserve all the spots for an all children group lesson/party.
Join your friends and family together for 2 hours of fun painting inspired from a theme, finished with your own creative twist! Any skill level will enjoy. Events include a demo and Nicole Monahan will help each guest as needed. All materials are provided. Go home with a new canvas painting.

A hands on, full day of floral and forest fun. Award winning Floral designer Trisha Locke will guide you on how to arrange a creative landscape floral design from garden flowers and forest natives. After lunch, paint your arrangement in Acrylic paint on canvas with Nicole Monahan to help you every step of the way.
